The solar photovoltaic market in Brazil has experienced remarkable growth in the last ten years. This year alone Brazilian developers have already installed at least 2.1 GW of distributed-generation solar and more than 1.3 GW of centralized PV.

Rio Grande do Sul has the third largest installed base of photovoltaic generation and is also the third largest grain producer in the country. Therefore, Solar Promotion International and Aranda Eventos have chosen Porto Alegre to host the Intersolar Summit Brasil Sul on October 29 and 30, 2024.

In the context of the transition to a low-carbon economy, solar photovoltaic is currently the fastest growing source. In Brazil, 10 GW of installed power has been added by 2022. An emerging application, agrivoltaics, provides synergy between photovoltaic technology and agriculture, with benefi cial effects for both.
