Domenico Sgrò has a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on renewable energies from the University of Calabria (2009), where he had obtained a bachelor's and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis on power electronics (2005). He is currently a tenured Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará. He has experience in Energy Engineering, especially on power electronics applied to renewable energy sources, mainly solar and wind. He does research on power electronics applied to renewable energies: Grid-connected Inverter, Power Flow Control, Smart-Grid and Microgrids Projects, and on e-mobility.
Domenico was a moderator at technical sessions WECS II and Grid Connection II at the 2015 SPEC and COBEP Conferences. He has 10 years' experience in designing distributed power generation systems, mainly in photovoltaics, thermal energy systems and energy conservation, energy efficiency and monitoring systems. He is active in the working group H2 Verde on Green Hydrogen Renewable Energy Policies in the state of Ceará.
